David was married to Mari- Rae Mayotte in 1996. They lived in Bemidji until she passed away in 2004. It was during these years that Dave survived his first bout with cancer. He was united in marriage to Tracey Halvorson in 2006. Dave and Tracey have three children, Kyle, Marcus and Abby. Their home is in rural Solway. Dave loved spending time with his family and friends. He also loved hunting, fishing, cooking venison over a campfire, and just being outdoors. He was incredibly musical, and could make music flow from his fingers on many different instruments. He had a wonderful sense of humor, often wore a tricky grin, and loved to tease. He kept his sense of humor all the way to the end. It was that, his personal faith in God, and his love for his family that kept him going for so long. David was preceded in death by his first wife, Mari-Rae.
