Burning
City Manager Ron Dunt announced at the 10/26/23 regular meeting of the Hampton City Council that the burn ban will be lifted from November 1, 2023-November 30, 2023.
Burning during said 30 days shall only be allowed from 12:00 p.m. (noon) until darkness, “darkness” being defined as when the streetlights come on.
Beavers Too Busy in Franklin County

The beavers have been getting too busy in Franklin County, according to County Conservation, which is offering a bounty on them from Nov 6th to April 15th.
CAL Over 60's met in the Latimer Community Center at noon on Tuesday, October 17. Mardell welcomed everyone and Pastor Petrie van Rooyen of Zion Reformed Chrch gave devotions and table prayer. Audrey Van Horn and Jan Van Horn served the tables.
The delicious menu consisted of chicken rice broccoli casserole, cabbage salad, blueberry muffin and for dessert apple crisp with ice cream.

Halloween Howl at the Windsor Theatre

At the Thursday, October 12th regular council meeting, the Hampton City Council set the date for a public hearing on the proposed comprehensive land use plan update in the city of Hampton, Iowa for 6:00 p.m. on Thursday, October 26, 2023, at the Hampton City Council Chambers.
Supervisors Seek to Redirect Hampton Library Funding

The Franklin County Board of Supervisors voted Oct 16th to redirect some funding for the Hampton Public Library to five other libraries in the county, but some reports say the funding allocations may be reconsidered at a meeting of the Hampton City Council.
