Arlyn Walter Erickson, 91, of Hampton, passed away Sunday, July 18, 2021, at his home in Hampton. Visitation was held from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m., Saturday, July 24, 2021, at the Sietsema Vogel Funeral Home in Hampton. Graveside services were held at the Dumont Cemetery immediately following the visitation on Saturday, with a time of lunch and fellowship afterwards at the Youth for Christ Building, 420 4th St SE, Hampton, IA 50441.

A Memorial Service and burial for Everett Kie Petersen will be held Friday, July 30, 2021 at 12:30 pm at the Iowa Veteran’s Cemetery, Adel, IA.   This will be followed by a gathering at the Veterans Reception Center in Van Meter, IA.  Family and friends are welcome.

Cathy Ann Numelin, 73, of Hampton and Latimer, Iowa, passed away Friday, July 16, 2021, at Mayo Clinic Hospital - Methodist Campus in Rochester, Minnesota, after a recent diagnosis of cancer. Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m., Thursday, July 22, 2021, at the Sietsema Vogel Funeral Home in Hampton. Serella Ann Price, 62 of Iowa Falls, Iowa, passed away Monday July 12, 2021, at her home in Iowa Falls.There will be no services for Serella at this time. Linn’s Funeral Chapel in Iowa Falls is assisting the family with the arrangements.

Carolyn Joyce Lange, 79, of Ames, Iowa, and formally of Iowa Falls, passed away Wednesday, July 14, 2021, at Israel Family Hospice House in Ames, Iowa. Funeral Service for Carolyn Lange will be 2:00 pm Monday, July 19, 2021 starting at First Church of God, 115 Indiana Avenue, Iowa Falls, Iowa, with visitation at 12:30 at the Church.

Denny K Edwards, 74, of Hampton, Iowa passed away Thursday, August 27, 2020 at the Rehabilitation Center of Hampton from complications of early onset of Alzheimer’s. A funeral service will be 1 p.m. on Friday, July 23, 2021 at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Hampton. Visitation will be an hour before the service.

Jerry “Jake” Butt of Dows passed away at Brio of Johnston on July 11, 2021.
The funeral service will be Saturday July 17th at 1:00 PM at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Alden with burial in Union Cemetery on the family farm southeast of Dows. Visitation will be at the church from 5:00 PM – 7:00 PM on Friday July 16th and one hour prior to the service. Surls Funeral Home of Iowa Falls is in charge of arrangements.

Jerry Butt, 58, of Dows, passed away on Sunday, July 11, 2021 at Brio of Johnston. Funeral service will be 1 p.m. on Saturday, July 17th at the St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Alden with burial in the Tom Olson Cemetery. Visitation will be on Friday from 5-7 p.m. at the Dows Community Center in Dows. Funeral arrangements are under the guidance of the Surls Funeral Home in Iowa Falls.

Jon J. Trousdale, 87, of Traer, Iowa, passed away Wednesday, July 7, 2021, at MercyOne North Iowa Medical Center in Mason City. 
He was born on November 20, 1933, to Merle and Oneta (Shreve) Trousdale.

Paul M Happel, 95, of Hampton, passed away Thursday, July  8th, 2021, at Franklin General Hospital in Hampton, Iowa.  Paul was born September 6, 1925, on a farm in Linn County, Iowa, to Theodore and Clara (Clausen) Happel.  Paul was baptized on September 20, 1925, at St. Stephens Lutheran Church in Atkins, Iowa.  He attended parochial school there until age 12.

MASON CITY: Phyllis Fay Masiker of Mason City passed away peacefully in her sleep on Tuesday, July 7, 2021 at Heritage Care and Rehabilitation Center. Her funeral will be held Tuesday, July 13, 2021 at St. James Lutheran Church, 1148 4th St. SE, Mason City, IA, at 11 am with Pastor Sid Bohls officating. Visitation will be held prior to the service from 9 am to 11 am on Tuesday at the church.
